Making a Canvas Course Site Available to Students

How to make a Canvas course site available to students

Please ensure you have reviewed and checked content in your course prior to making available to students. Review the Course Site Quality Principles for assistance or contact LTS@newcastle.edu.au.

  1. Log into Canvas.
  2. Access your course (from the Canvas Dashboard or Courses Area).

  4. Click the Publish the Course link in the right hand side menu within the course.

  5. Review the items and select the boxes to accept your obligations to comply with the terms. Please ensure you have reviewed your content prior to making the site available.

  6. Click 'Publish the course'.

  7. Click 'Save and Return'.

Student Feedback

From Semester 2 2023, students will be able to access a copy of the Course Site Quality Principles via the help menu in all Canvas sites. Students will be given the option to provide feedback on the structure and/or functionality of the site. Feedback will be received by LDTI, who will action any corrections, or refer to Course Coordinators as appropriate.
