Faculty research overview

The Faculty of Business and Law strives to find solutions so business and society can work together to create sustainable enterprises and communities in the areas of: Management, Law, Marketing, Human Resource Management and Accounting, Finance and Economics.

The Faculty’s Hunter Research Foundation Centre works with industry, government and the community to provide the socio-economic evidence-base to help Hunter industries  become leaders within globally-positioned, knowledge-based economies.

The Faculty’s Health Services Research Centre collaborates closely with industry, clinicians and a network of health services researchers to improve the design and management of health services with particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches.

The Faculty of Business and Law is renowned for excellence in internationally relevant research.The research output of both the Newcastle Business School and the Newcastle Law School has been rated as ‘at world class’ in the 2015 Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), assessment of research quality. In addition, two fields of research within business, ‘Marketing’ and ‘Business Management’, have both been rated as ‘above world class’.
