Law on the Beach is a free legal advice clinic for members of the local community, held in the relaxed setting of Merewether Surf Club each January and February. Allowing our students to work on real-world cases alongside their studies with Newcastle Legal Centre lawyers, the clinics make seeking legal advice more approachable, particularly for young people.
Scientific research is typically informed by more than one discipline, so it is essential for professional scientists to be able to engage and understand the perspectives of multiple disciplines while addressing scientific challenges. This hands-on Multidisciplinary Laboratories course is embedded in all of our science degrees to ensure our students gain the essential skills required to succeed in their chosen field.

Admission to our undergraduate degree programs usually requires successful completion of a senior secondary school qualification similar to the Higher School Certificate (HSC), the highest educational award in New South Wales schools.
Applicants who do not speak English as a first language must demonstrate that they meet the University's English proficiency requirement. Further information regarding English language proficiency requirements can be found at the English Language Proficiency for Admission Policy.
In the application portal, you can enter the program you wish to study and upload relevant documents needed as part of your application. It is recommended you submit your application a minimum of 12 weeks before your intended semester of trimester start date.
If you are applying through an education agent, they can also apply through the application portal. Ensure your agent is contracted to the University to avoid delays with your application.
Once you have started your application you will be provided with a reference number. You or your education agent will be able to track your application as it progresses.

The Bachelor of Science (Physics major) is currently seeking reaccreditation by the Australian Institute of Physics (AIP). Students can become an associate member of the institute while studying, and a full member upon graduation.
Our Bachelor of Laws and Diploma of Legal Practice are accredited by the Legal Profession Admission Board of New South Wales.
The Bachelor of Science (Statistics major) is currently seeking reaccreditation by the Statistical Society of Australia. Students are able to become an associate member of the institute while studying, and a full member upon graduation.
