ResChallenge
The friendly rivalry and fierce pride of our residents are displayed through our ResChallenge competition! ResChallenge involves a number of events throughout the year - both in person and online - that celebrate the academic, artistic, athletic, and altruistic strengths of our residents and concludes with the annual Student Living Awards Dinner. This event celebrates the participation in ResChallenge events, and awards the highly coveted Residence of the Year award!
Community Shield
Student Living residents have a proud tradition of supporting local, national and international organisations through fundraising, volunteering and blood donation. These three components make up the Community Shield with the results of each combined to determine the overall winner of the Community Shield. The last ResChallenge year was extremely successful, seeing our residences responsible for:
Sports Shield
Instilling a proud tradition of competition and friendly rivalry, the Sports Shield encourages positive interaction between residences. Each residence can participate in a variety of sporting championships including soccer, touch football, basketball, swimming, ultimate frisbee and so much more. The residence with the highest aggregate of points in the Championship events is awarded the coveted Sports Shield.
Arts Shield
The Arts Shield celebrates the artistic and creative talents of our residents with a variety of events designed to show case their skills and capabilities. The Arts Shield consists of two of the most popular events on the ResChallenge calendar – the Art Show and Music Night. At the conclusion of the year, the residence that has accumulated the highest number of points is awarded the Arts Shield.
Academic Shield
The Academic Shield celebrates the academic achievements of residents through events including:
- Battle of the Brains
- Science and Engineering Challenge
- Semester 1 Academic Achievement
- Speech Night
The residence with the highest number of points accumulated from these events is awarded the Academic Shield.
