About
Welcome to the School of Science.
We teach undergraduate students and support Higher Degree Research students in many study areas. Our programs run across two campuses, where students can use modern labs, advanced brain‑imaging tools, high‑performance computers, and a busy psychology clinic.
Our teachers are experts who are respected around the world. They care about their work and use up‑to‑date methods and technology to engage students. Much of what they teach comes directly from their own research.
Many staff also work with industry partners and government organisations to help solve real problems in society. These connections give students the chance to gain work experience while they study, helping them stand out when they apply for jobs. Students finish their degrees with the practical and theoretical skills they need to succeed in the workforce.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
