The internal Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI) process for LIEF commencing in 2027 is now open and closes Tuesday 28 October 2025. All applicants intending to submit an ARC Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) application in the next round (LE27 due to open in January 2026), either through the University of Newcastle or through another institution, must submit an internal Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI).This scheme is CLOSED Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities (LIEF) for funding commencing in 2027 is expected to open on Thursday 22 January 2026 and close Thursday 9 April 2026. |
The ARC LIEF scheme provides funding for large-scale cooperative initiatives to enable the purchase of expensive infrastructure, equipment and facilities costing at least $200,000 (with the minimum amount of $150,000 requested from the ARC).

* It is a requirement for all applicants intending to submit an ARC LIEF grant commencing in 2027, either through the University of Newcastle or through another institution, to submit a Notification of Intent to Apply (NOI). Cash and in-kind support cannot be assured for applicants who do not submit an NOI by the deadline. Incomplete NOIs will not be considered.
