  • Researcher Roles
  • Fellowships/Awards
  • Number of Applications, Funded Projects and Cross-Scheme Eligibility
  • Organisational types
  • Incomplete or Misleading Information
  • Medical Research
  • Submission of applications

Visit the ARC Eligibility Matters webpage for more details.

ARC Submission Procedure

  • Please note that the Research Office is unable to provide advice on any grant or fellowship scheme after the Eligibility and Compliance Check period unless you have obtained a booking for an E&C Check.

IF YOU DO REQUIRE AN ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE CHECK

IF YOU DO NOT REQUIRE AN ELIGIBILITY AND COMPLIANCE CHECK

1. Booking must be made within the allocated Eligibility and Compliance Check Period for each scheme

To make a booking for an eligibility and compliance check for an ARC Grant scheme, you need a valid RMS Application ID for an application that has the University listed as the Administering Institution.

Please note: An Application ID will only secure one booking and cannot be used to make multiple bookings for the same application.

Online Booking System

1. The Research Office is unable to provide advice on any grant or fellowship scheme after the Eligibility and Compliance Check period unless an Eligibility and Compliance Check was completed.

Please note: Only institutional issues will be checked prior to submission to the ARC and you as the lead CI are responsible for the eligibility and compliance of your application.

2. By 9am on the date of the booking, you are required to ‘Submit to the Research Office’ your ARC application in RMS.

Please note: RMS requires all tabs within your application to be ‘Green’ in order for the ‘Submit to the Research Office’ button to be enabled. This requires all sections to be complete and all the required pdf. documents to be uploaded.

3. Feedback will be provided by email to the CI by the Research Office within 3 working days.

4. By 9am on the University Deadline for Final Application date for the relevant scheme, you are required to ‘Submit to Research Office’ your final, submission-ready application in RMS and all associated documentation (e.g Cover Sheet and CI/PI/Organisation Certifications/Written Evidence) forwarded through to research-applications@newcastle.edu.au

Please note: The Research Office is unable to submit your application to the ARC until all CI, PI and Partner Organisation Certifications (Written Evidence) and a completed, fully signed cover sheet is received.

2. By 9am on the University Deadline for Final Application date for the relevant scheme, you are required to ‘Submit to Research Office’ your final, submission-ready application in RMS and forward all associated documentation (e.g Cover Sheet and CI/PI/Organisation Certifications/Written Evidence)  to research-applications@newcastle.edu.au

Please note: The Research Office is unable to submit your application to the ARC until all CI, PI and Partner Organisation Certifications (Written Evidence) and a completed, fully signed cover sheet is received.

5. Research Office will submit your final application to the ARC once institutional approval has been obtained.

3. Research Office will submit your final application once institutional approval has been obtained

  • Eligibility and Compliance (E&C) Checks are completed electronically. While they are NOT compulsory they are highly recommended.
  • If you opt not to book an E&C Check, only institutional issues will be checked prior to submission to the ARC and you as the lead CI are responsible for the eligibility and compliance of your application.
  • To enable the allocation of appropriate resourcing, bookings must be made prior to the defined scheme Eligibility and Compliance Check period. Access to book an Eligibility and Compliance Check will no longer be available once the Eligibility and Compliance Check period has commenced. This does not apply for schemes with continuous rounds (i.e. ARC Linkage Projects and NHMRC Partnership Projects).
  • Please also note that, no application is approved for submission without the provision of a completed, fully signed application coversheet and if applicable, all CI, PI and Organisation Certifications (Written Evidence).

If you have any further questions, please email research-applications@newcastle.edu.au
