Program design and evaluation

Through hands-on support, program evaluation, shared learning, and practical resources, we help build strong planning and evaluation skills across the sector. Our goal is to shift how evaluation is seen. It is not a box‑ticking task, but a shared process for learning, reflection, and positive change.

We use a critical and reflective approach to program design and evaluation. This approach supports equity practitioners in their everyday work.

The way we define and describe equity “problems” strongly influences the programs we design and how we judge their success. Seeing this as a starting point helps practitioners identify the assumptions behind their work. This leads to programs that are clearer in purpose, more intentional, and more effective.

This approach also asks practitioners to think carefully about whose values are shaping program design and evaluation. It promotes openness, responsibility, and a strong focus on equity throughout the student lifecycle, from access and participation to transition, success, and achievement.
