Parking permits (vPermit)
The University has transitioned to an online parking permit management system.
vPermit allows University of Newcastle staff, students, residents, and other user groups to apply for and manage their parking permit online (eligibility conditions apply).The system uses license plate recognition to replace physical parking permits.
No more stickers or paperwork – the new digital system gives users control to manage their own parking permit.
Driving a different car to campus? vPermit gives users flexibility to switch between license plate numbers depending which car they are driving to campus that day. It is your responsibility to ensure the vehicle registration you have selected as Active in vPermit matches the vehicle you are driving to campus that day for your permit to be valid.

If you are not eligible for a parking permit, or as an alternative option, you can pay for casual (day) parking at Callaghan Campus using ticket machines or the parking payment app, CellOPark. For more information, click here.
