Internal process for submitting applications
The National Centre for Student Equity in Higher Education (NCSEHE) has opened applications for its 2017 Research Grants Funding Round. For University of Newcastle (UON) staff intending to apply for a grant in the current round, please follow the internal process outlined below for submitting applications.
Intention to apply
If you are intending to apply in this current round, please inform Belinda Munn, via email no later than Friday 2 June. This will ensure that you are provided with the suggested text for the Organisational Details (section 6) of the application and included in the request to waive overheads.
Assistance with budgets
If you require any assistance with developing your budget please contact Belinda Munn as soon as possible and no later than Friday 16 June.
Waiver of overheads
CEEHE will negotiate with the DVC(R) to waive overheads for applications that are academically sound. Only projects that have contacted Belinda Munn by Friday 2 June, will be included in this request.
Peer review and feedback
All applications from staff at UON will be peer reviewed by a panel of leading international scholars.
Draft applications for peer review must be received by Belinda Munn no later than Monday 3 July 2017. Draft applications should be in word format.
Feedback from the peer review process will be provided to applicants during the week starting Monday 10 July 2017. The feedback provide must be responded to before UON will support the submission of applications.
Submission to NCSEHE
Final, completed applications, taking into account the feedback provided, are due to CEEHE by 5pm Wednesday 19 July.
The final application must be accompanied by the UON External Grant Coversheet.
Applications will be submitted to the NCSEHE from the DVC(A) indicating institutional support for the applications on Friday 21 July 2017.

In particular please pay close attention to the Sub-Contract Agreement. Successful grants will need to agree to ALL aspects of the Sub-Contract Agreement. This agreement cannot be altered.
