Employee Value Proposition (EVP)

The Employee Value Proposition (EVP) identifies what sets us apart in the very competitive higher education sector.

The NeW Directions Strategic Plan 2013-2015 identified the need for the University to position itself as a highly desirable employer in the labour market. 

Introduce a sector leading 'UON Career Advantage package' for new academic and professional staff that articulates the career benefits and support provided to promote a strong 'employer of first choice' reputation. (Future Workforce Strategic Objective 1.2)

Achieving our 2025 Vision relies upon UON continuing to attract the very best candidates from around the globe to join our great team.

To be clear about what sets us apart in the very competitive higher education sector, we have developed the UON Employee Value Proposition (EVP).  

At UON each of us know what we love about our job and working at the University. This will vary from person to person depending on any number of factors. It may be the scope of your position, opportunities for career progression, our wonderful bushland campus, achievements of the University, employment benefits and conditions or a combination of all and more.

The EVP was developed over recent months in consultation with current staff from different parts of the University and in a range of roles, via focus groups and one-on-one discussions. Throughout the process, we sought to understand what our staff value most about working here.

The resulting EVP with its seven pillars aims to capture the essence of the UON employee experience for potential candidates. It also introduces some of our most significant corporate resources such as the Strategic Plan, the UoN Leadership Framework and our Benefits and Conditions. As the EVP is implemented during 2014, further feedback will be sought from all stakeholders to monitor effectiveness and enable review and further refinement.
