Vale Dr John Peschar OAM
University of Newcastle Vice-Chancellor Professor Alex Zelinsky said Dr John Peschar will be missed by many across the region.
 
    
    “The University of Newcastle is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr John Peschar OAM, who was a cherished part of the Newcastle community. Dr Peschar was a successful businessman who became deeply respected through his countless roles in charitable and public service organisations,” said Professor Zelinsky.
“John leaves a lasting legacy on our university having served on the Council for 18 years. He held an unwavering commitment to the university and the wellbeing and education of our students. In 2004 John was awarded an Honorary Doctor of The University for his excellent service and contribution to the University of Newcastle.
“We send our deepest condolences to John’s family and friends.”
