Global impact starts with you - celebrating United Nations Day

Monday, 27 September 2021

To celebrate United Nations Day the University of Newcastle will demonstrate its commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals with events across its Ourimbah and Callaghan campuses.

Our University is a proud partner of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) – an organisation which runs a growing global network of training centres, known as CIFAL.

CIFAL Newcastle is the first CIFAL centre to be established within a university and is the only CIFAL centre in Australia and Asia Pacific.

Through the global CIFAL network Newcastle is linked to centres of excellence in sustainable development across the world and will play an important role in developing the capacity of organisations within the region to meet the Sustainable Development Goals.

At both campuses people will be asked to sign a pledge to the Sustainable Development Goal of their choice on giant cards. You can find the cards in the main quad at Ourimbah and in the Auchmuty courtyard at Callaghan.

Events are open to all staff, students and the community. Registration is essential please visit the links above.
