Mission to solve unexplained gut disease granted $3m NHMRC funding
The National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) has today awarded $3m to the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Digestive Health to continue its mission to find causes of chronic unexplained gut diseases, unlock new targets for therapies and ultimately cure disease.

The notion of a well-trained reservist force available to serve the needs of Australia was proposed in an entirely different context at the recent HunterWiSE ‘ideas collider’ workshop, with one team asking the question: are ‘teacher reservists’ the answer to the STEM teacher shortage in Australia?

Visual Communication and Animation students take away first prize at national animation competition
Members of the University of Newcastle's VisCom Student Club are rewarded on their efforts after taking the initiative to produce and submit their film to Wanimate's national film competition '3Thirty'. Triple E Project to boost adolescent health engagement
The Hunter Medical Research Institute’s (HMRI) Healthy Minds Research Program, in collaboration with researchers from the University of Newcastle and University of Sydney, have launched the Triple E Project, a research study aiming to improve adolescents’ engagement with health apps, empowering young Australians to enhance their physical and mental health.
