Upward trajectory continues for University of Newcastle
The University of Newcastle has improved its rankings in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject (2021).
Mineral and Mining was among the highest performing subjects, ranked 23rd globally, followed by Nursing which was ranked 36th globally.
In an impressive set of results, the University of Newcastle had 15 subjects ranked among the top 200 in the world and 14 subjects in the top 10 in Australia.
“We are operating in a fiercely competitive sector, so we’re understandably delighted to have 15 of our subjects ranked in the top 200 in the world,” Pro Vice-Chancellor of Academic Excellence, Professor Jennifer Milam said.
The Subject rankings are based on four indicators: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations Per Paper and H-Index. A total of 1,453 institutions were ranked in the 2021 Subject rankings across five broad subjects and 51 specific subject areas.
“This is an important time for us to thank our researchers and academics for the work they do to help achieve these results and contribute to our University’s excellent reputation,” Professor Milam said.
