International health leaders gather in Newcastle
Compassion and care in a changing world is on the agenda this week as UON hosts the 3rd Asia-Pacific International Conference on Qualitative Research in Nursing, Midwifery and Health at Newcastle City Hall.
The conference will bring together 130 delegates from 13 countries to discuss the need for different approaches to healthcare which maximize compassion and care integration across different levels and settings.
The event will feature renowned keynote speakers, Emeritus Professor Max van Manen, a distinguished scholar at the International Institute for Qualitative Methodology and Catherine Aquino-Russell, Professor of Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing, University of New Brunswick, Canada.
UON Professor Sally Chan, Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, said the conference would establish an exciting platform for healthcare leaders from around the world to share their knowledge.
"Through the sharing and exchange of information on the latest developments in the disciplines among experts from across the globe, we hope to contribute to formulating global and regional strategies in advancing nurses and midwives' contributions towards compassion and care," she said.
