Winston Churchill Fellowship 2014
UON graduate wins Winston Churchill Fellowship 2014 and prepares for research journey overseas.
A UON graduate recently won the highly prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship. Ms Alesha Bleakley is a technology teacher from Kincumber NSW. She joins 105 other high-achieving Australians this September, as they begin their journeys to various international destinations in the pursuit of research excellence.
As a recipient of The Northern Districts Education Centre (Sydney) Churchill Fellowship, Alesha will study: The dichotomy in technology education of the future, the role of hand skills and the role of CAD/CAM technology in the production of designed solutions (USA, UK, Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Finland).
The Winston Churchill Memorial Trust has now funded over 3,900 Australian Fellowships, providing talented citizens with the opportunity to explore their areas of expertise across the globe. Recipients were selected after a rigorous selection process and each Fellowship is designed to produce findings that benefit the wider Australian community.
