Laptops and Equipment
The Library provides a range of computers, laptops, and equipment to support University of Newcastle students and visitors to assist your study needs.
- Computers: Available for use throughout the Library. Log in using your student or staff ID and password.
- Connecting your own laptop: Use the Library's wireless facilities and wired access docking stations to connect your personal device to the network. Visitors can connect to the internet via the UON_Guest or the eduroam network.
- Power and Study Space: The Library provides powered desks and outlets in all study areas
Borrowing a laptop
The Library provides Dell Latitude laptops for loan to University of Newcastle students.
- At Auchmuty Library, 24/7 laptop loans can be borrowed from the Library Service Zone on level 3.
- At Newcastle City Library and Gosford Hospital Library, laptops can be borrowed from the Library Service Zone during Library opening hours.
The loan period for Laptops is 7 days with 1 renewal. The laptop must be returned to the same location you borrowed it from.
- Fines for late return and replacement costs apply to laptops
- The Library provides powered desks and outlets in all study areas.
Borrowing other equipment
The Library provides access to loans for:
- Dell Laptop Chargers
- Whiteboard marker kits
- Macbook chargers
- Calculators
- CD/DVD writers
Please ask Library Staff at the Service Zone if you would like to borrow these items.
