Gender equity at The University of Newcastle

The University's Workforce Gender Equity Plan - Progress to Equity outlines a suite of actions proposed (under the SAGE Athena SWAN action plan and more broadly) to address known gaps and other issues.

The plan outlines the University’s actions that underpin a shared commitment to:

  • Foster an inclusive and equitable organisational culture
  • Embed accountability for leaders in gender equity
  • Attract and retain more women in under-represented areas (STEMM)
  • Increase the number of women in senior and leadership positions
  • Support women’s careers through training, leadership and development
