Startup Stories - Peter Jamieson, Anditi
PeterJamieson
Long before the term ‘startup’ was coined, Peter Jamieson founded environmental consultancy Umwelt right here in Newcastle. The firm specialised in finding new ways of ‘doing’ natural resource management and with sustainability and innovation as part of their core values, Umwelt has grown into a thriving multidisciplinary industry leader. But in 2012, Peter and his team stepped back, took a breath and considered the learnings from the previous decades. Dissatisfied with the available tools for spatial data analysis, particularly for LiDAR, and cognisant of rapidly growing datasets in the field, these spatial data pioneers set about building a software solution rigorously engineered to excel in precision spatial analytics at scale.
In September 2014, Anditi was established to bring the benefits of the advanced analytical platform to the rapidly expanding field of digital information. Peter's focus on business excellence has seen Anditi recognised with multiple industry awards including a finalist for ‘Excellence in Innovation’ at Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards in 2017, which was presented in recognition of Aniditi’s proven capacity to provide tailored data solutions to clientele faster than ever before.
Come along and hear the story of this long-time local entrepreneur and why he believes this demonstration of aptitude only scratches the surface of Anditi's capabilities.
Tickets are free but bookings essential - book here.
About Startup Stories
Startup Stories takes place every Thursday from 1 pm at the University of Newcastle's coworking spaces Three76 Hub (Newcastle) and DSA-18 Hub (Williamtown)*. Startup founders talk candidly about their experience as an entrepreneur and business owner – the highs, the lows, the wins, the mistakes, the whole enchilada. Startup Stories provides real-life examples of the different stages of the startup journey, creating a forum for startups to share and learn but also for the community to see tangible evidence of entrepreneurship making a difference in our region. #i2nStartupStories
*One space hosts the startup founder speaker while the other hosts a live web stream of the talk.
