Startup Stories - Craig Williams, ctrlspace

This event was held on Thursday 29 March 2018

Craig Williams

Technologies such as XR (VR, AR & MR) and AI create new opportunities for organisation across a plethora of industries. While these opportunities at first seem promising, they can create more questions than answers. Craig Williams manages UON’s IT Innovation Team and has the job of attempting to answer these questions when developing innovative applications for teaching, learning and research across the University’s diverse campuses. Craig's multi-award winning team has consistently broken the University mould; using agile and lean methods to rapidly develop, introduce and trial new technology and business models for teaching and learning.

Craig is also the founder of ctrlspace, an AI and XR technology consulting and development studio which helps organisations understand how they can leverage new technologies while offering the firm’s own capability to deliver customised applications and experiences. It would be logical to assume two jobs for one person is enough, but ever the entrepreneur, Craig has founded another project, Sequenc.ai, a revolutionary take on communication which lets the user converse at a personal level over a great distance.

Join us live at Three76 (or DSA-18 for the webstream) to hear from this local innovator while he explores the delicate balance of start-up, family and holding down a day job, and what he sees in the technological future of personal communication at distance.

Event is free but bookings essential - book here.

About Startup Stories

Startup Stories takes place every Thursday from 1 pm at the University of Newcastle's coworking spaces Three76 Hub (Newcastle) and DSA-18 Hub (Williamtown)*. Startup founders talk candidly about their experience as an entrepreneur and business owner – the highs, the lows, the wins, the mistakes, the whole enchilada. Startup Stories provides real-life examples of the different stages of the startup journey, creating a forum for startups to share and learn but also for the community to see tangible evidence of entrepreneurship making a difference in our region. #i2nStartupStories

*One space hosts the startup founder speaker while the other hosts a live web stream of the talk.
