This health specific information session will focus on Research Integrity, Ethics and Governance. Join us for a conversation chaired by Professor Nicholas Goodwin, Director, Central Coast Research Institute.
National and international conversations about the links between research excellence and research integrity have been growing in importance with the rising pressures on researchers and research performance. How do we engage in good research conduct and practise whilst anticipating new challenges?
- Professor Catharine Coleborne, Director, Research Ethics and Integrity, UON will begin with the questions; what is research integrity? and why it is important?
- Professor Chris Dayas, Assistant Dean Research, College of Health , Medicine and Wellbeing will unpack the rules of play and highlight key documents that are the basis of our play book when designing and undertaking research.
- Sarah Moberley, HNELHD Manager Research Ethics and Doctor Jodie Marquez, Chair Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC), The University of Newcastle will guide us along the Ethics pathway bringing key processes and documents to life [Australian Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, National Statement on Ethical Conduct in Human Research].
- Kristy Morris, HNELHD Manager, Research Governance and Doctor Katherine Bolton, CCLHD Research Manager will bring home all things research governance and protocols and outline what supports are available to you during this process.
All of our presenters will then form a star-studded Expert Panel providing you all an opportunity to ask your questions.
