The University of Newcastle [via Research Advantage] in collaboration with Hunter New England and the Central Coast Local Health District’s will deliver the

Health Professionals Research Education Program [HPREP]

A series of presentations/seminars have been developed to run from March to November in 2022 - providing information and practical advice for our Clinician Researchers, Clinicians, Clinician Managers, Conjoints and Health Academics.

This health specific information session will focus on a conversation centred around

RESEARCH PARTNERSHIPS AND FINDING ALTERNATIVE FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

Professor John Wiggerswill guide us, as we consider from a Clinician’s perspective:

  • Industry/Business research partnerships – what could they look like?
  • Philanthropic grant funding opportunities
  • Clinician case study of a successful partnership with industry undertaking research collaboration

Professor Zee Upton, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation will share her expertise in partnering with Industry/Business – what could this look like? and what’s key to working with partners?

Conjoint Professor Peter Wark, Senior Staff Specialist in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine at John Hunter Hospital will share insights and a case study of the journey that led to a successful research partnership with Industry

Ms Emily Cox, Relationship Manager (Trusts & Foundations), Office of Alumni and Philanthropy will shareexamples of the vast range of health related opportunities available (and where to find them) as well as tops tips for working successfully with these organisations

Our Expert panel will be on hand and provide an opportunity for you to ask your questions.
