ABOR3999 Aboriginal Professional Experience
ABOR3999 offers you the chance to apply your theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in a professional environment. Through the course, you will complete a supervised placement of 140 hours that is designed to provide Aboriginal-related experiences in cross-cultural work environments.
This placement offers a unique opportunity to work on projects across a range of areas in local organisations, collaborating with Aboriginal people and organisations. You will gain practical experience working in teams on real-world projects to develop career-ready skills. Through engagement with the Wollotuka Institute, you will also complete the 3-Step Cultural Capability training program which includes local field trips, supporting you to establish culturally responsive world views, relationships and networks.
This hands-on experience not only enhances your practical skills but also boosts your employability, expands professional networks, and provides valuable industry insights and mentorship.
The Course Coordinator and Wollotuka Institute will share details of the experience with you prior to commencement. If you would like to source your own placement, you will need to seek approval from the Course Coordinator.
