New Faculty Orientation
New Faculty Orientation (NFO) is a probationary requirements for most new academic long-term appointments (over 12 months).
This program aims to familiarise new teaching staff with our unique learning environment and provide opportunities for professional development, networking and collegiality.
New Teaching Staff, with a probationary requirement to complete Teaching Essentials and/or New Faculty Orientation, should register for the next available session. Please check your letter of appointment to confirm your probationary requirement before registering.

New Faculty Orientation covers practical workshop sessions and introduces new teaching staff to the essential information needed to successfully teach at the University of Newcastle. Topics may include communication systems, the virtual learning environment, policies, course coordination, assessment discussion panels and course design and classroom challenges.
