The dynamic and serendipitous nature of the world beyond the classroom offers a limitless learning resource library. But how can we capture and transport these resources into the classroom? Enter the ubiquitous Smartphone and you, the Guerilla content creator. This resource outlines five tips to get started with mobile video content creation
Smartphone Recording Tips
1. Be prepared
Make sure your Smartphone is charged and the camera lens is clean. Film a test video and play it back using headphones to check sound quality.
2. Get close to your subject
To avoid losing audio or video quality position yourself as close to your subject as possible.
3. Turn the Smartphone to landscape mode
4. Press record!
Make sure you press record – this is too often forgotten in the excitement of the moment. Most smartphones display a visual indicator when the phone is recording. If the numbers are going up you are recording!
5. Keep the camera steady
Hold the phone with both hands with your elbows close to your body to stabilise yourself. Or, rest your phone on a nearby surface (eg. a table) to steady the camera.
