GenAI and Academic Integrity

How to respond to suspected misconduct

These resources have been developed by the University’s Student Academic Conduct Officers and the Artificial Intelligence Working Group to support Course Coordinator decision making in response to instances of possible inappropriate student use of GenAI in assessments.

In addition to the referral flowchart, a resource booklet has been developed to assist Course Coordinators in critically reviewing assessment tasks and implementing strategies to minimise the risk of inappropriate use of GenAI in assessments.

Additional information can be seen at GenAI: Frequently Asked Questions.

The University Teaching and Learning Committee has approved the use of Turnitin's AI detection capability. Staff should not enter student work into any AI detection platforms other than Turnitin.
