Online Formal Examinations
The following settings will be applied for all quizzes conducted in Canvas during the formal examination period. Where a single file submission is required, the Canvas Assignment tool will be used.

| Publish | ‘Yes’ | If this option is set to ‘No’, students will never be able to see the test even if Available From date has passed. |

Add a new announcement for this test | ‘No’ | This setting will create a very basic generic announcement, posted at the time the test becomes available. A more detailed announcement including when the exam will be available should be posted. |
| Multiple Attempts | ‘Unchecked’ | Only a single attempt on an exam can be made. If an extra attempt is required it can be arranged at a later stage. |
| Time Limit | ‘Checked’ | The appropriate, agreed upon time limit will be applied with an additional 10 minutes given on the availability until date. |
| Available From / Available Until Dates | ‘Checked’ | Applied as per the exam timetable in line with the time the fixed or flexible time period the exam will be run. An additional 10 minutes will be given on the time due to Canvas automatically submitting the quiz at the set Available Until Time. Availability will cover the duration of the exam. |
| Moderation | As required | This is the mechanism for applying Reasonable Adjust Plans (RAP) and will allow for extra time or alternative sitting time for individuals. |
| Due Date | ‘Unchecked’ | The use of availability dates and test timer negates the need for a due date to be applied. |
| Quiz type | ‘Graded’ | This ensures the exam score contributes to overall totals. |
| Let Students See Their Quiz Responses | ‘Unchecked’ | You may wish to ensure the grade posting policy is set to manual at the assessment-level or course-level. |
| Let Students See the Correct Answers | ‘Unchecked’ | This will ensure students do not see the correct answers. |

Show One Question at a Time | ‘Checked’ | Where a quiz is long and contains lots of media, the quiz will display better showing one question at a time. |
