Learning Orientation (LO) and Grade Orientation (GO) are not two ends of a spectrum but are instead two independent orientations. Neither orientation scale is inherently bad. Knowing your student’s orientation and your own orientation allows you to tailor classes to reach a range of learning styles and foster self-motivated learners.
