Local learning facilities
Our Armidale office is located in the Tablelands Clinical School, which was established in 2009 in collaboration with the University of New England. The school is purpose-built for medicine and allied health students. It supports the quality learning and teaching of clinical skills, offering experience in diagnosis, treatment and prevention of illness within a professional environment with teaching clinics and simulation labs.
Armidale Hospital
Armidale Hospital provides for all types of medical services, including medicine, surgery, obstetrics, paediatrics, geriatrics and accident and emergency as well as outpatient clinics. Ancillary services include radiology, pathology, occupational therapy and speech therapy, social work, physiotherapy and pharmacy.
Student accommodation
Students can apply for subsidised accommodation in our two three-bedroom villas located a short walk from the Armidale Hospital and the Tablelands Clinical School. Additional hostel-type accommodation owned by Hunter New England Area Health Service, is available at Rusden House, about 200m from the hospital.
If student accommodation in unavailable or full, we may be able to subsidise your alternative accommodation costs, making it an affordable way to experience life away from home. Detailed information about accommodation can be found in the Student Orientation Manual.
Community engagement activities
As a student with us, you’ll also be involved in community engagement activities in and around the local region. Past students in Armidale have enjoyed getting involved with outreach to local rural schools and the One Deadly Step program.
