University of Newcastle Department of Rural Health staff are part of our local communities. We work with partners within and beyond the university to develop interest and capability with research.

Our research diagram is constructed with circles, a symbol often used in Aboriginal artwork to depict meeting places, depending on the artist’s dreaming. The u-shapes frequently depict people. We have faced the u-shapes inward as a representation of our commitment to collaborating with individuals and communities.
The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
