The original campus for the University of Newcastle, Callaghan is a beautiful mix of award-winning, architecturally designed buildings sitting across 140 hectares in a natural setting. Our relaxed campus environment allows you to study free from distraction.
We are equipping our campus with infrastructure that will meet the needs of our students, staff and researchers well into the future. BiG Day In
BiG Day In events are for year 9-12 school students to explore careers in technology. Students interact with to 7-8 sessions covering career paths, career opportunities, the latest developments, and the future of technology.
Our location
Callaghan campus is located 12 kilometres north west of Newcastle CBD. Entrances are located on University Drive, Callaghan. Callaghan is well serviced by both bus and train services and has excellent access to the M1 Pacific Motorway.

Smoking at Callaghan campus is strictly limited to designated smoking pods located away from building entrances and high pedestrian zones.
