The University of Newcastle (UON) is looking to attract the best and brightest International researchers with a new round of prestigious scholarships.

Local support for global research

Twenty UON Global Scholarships will support students through four-year’s tuition fees, a 3.5 years living allowance, an establishment allowance and Overseas Student Health Cover.

“The University of Newcastle has a global reputation as a research-led university,” says Professor Kevin Hall, Deputy Vice Chancellor Research and Innovation. “Attracting the world’s brightest young minds to study in Newcastle will continue to strengthen our innovation agenda.”

UON is committed to being a global partner of choice through education and research partnerships, and these new scholarships will ensure that we attract the highest quality candidates completing a Higher Degree by Research (PhD or MPhil).

Professor Lucy Johnston, Dean of Graduate Research, is enthusiastic about the potential for long-term goodwill and international understanding that these scholarships can bring.

“Undertaking a Higher Degree in Research at UON will enable students to work with world-class researchers and to help them gain a broader experience to help enhance their career opportunities,” Professor Johnston says.

With the global growth in knowledge-based economies, these scholarships will see UON cement its reputation as a world class institution and a research leader.
