Employer of Choice for Women

The University has a world-class track record in equity where we support women to thrive in their careers. We are proud to be an Employer of Choice for Women which is an acknowledgement from the Workplace Gender Equity Authority (WGEA), formerly the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Agency (EOWA). 

In line with the NeW Directions Strategic Plan 2013-15 (PDF, 934KB), we are building the capacity of our female staff and working towards equal representation of men and women across all levels of the organisation. 

By increasing the proportion of academic and professional women in senior leadership positions and maintaining our status as an Employer of Choice for Women we will achieve a workplace where our female staff can reach their full potential.

We are already making some great progress in building the capacity of women at UoN with an increase in female senior managers and female academic staff and a steady decrease in the pay gap.
