How to apply
There are two ways to apply for your undergraduate degree.
Direct Transfer
- When applications are open, click on the ‘Apply now’ button below to be taken to the Internal Transfers page.
- Be sure to compile and provide any documents outlined within the application.
- Complete the form, selecting up to 2 preferences. You should include at least one degree from the Guaranteed Admissions Programs.
- Make sure you submit your application and any documentation by the closing date.
UAC Application
The following University of Newcastle degrees require an application through UAC:
- Bachelor of Medical Radiation Science (Honours) (Diagnostic Radiography)
- Bachelor of Midwifery
- Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours)
- Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy
- Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours)
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)
- Joint Medical Program (excluding the Equity through Excellence Scheme)
*Excluded programs are reviewed annually and may change.
Important: If you are planning to submit a UAC application for any of the programs listed above, or any other University in NSW, you should include your University of Newcastle preferences in your UAC application. Please do not submit a direct application if you are applying through UAC.
If you would like to apply for an Australian University in another state of territory you’ll need to apply through the relevant Tertiary Admissions Centre.
UAC application tips
- You will be allocated a UAC Application Number and a PIN – make a note of these numbers.
- Pathways students must apply as a Non-Year 12 Applicant
- You are not applying through Alternate Entry
- List your Open Foundation/Yapug/Newstep program under ‘Preparatory Courses’
- Print/Download your application summary listing your qualifications and preferences for your records
