How to apply
There are two ways to apply for your undergraduate degree.
Direct Transfer
Applications to study at the University of Newcastle in Semester 1, 2024 are closed.
- When applications are open, click on the ‘Apply now’ button below to be taken to the Internal Transfers page.
- Be sure to compile and provide any documents outlined within the application.
- Complete the form, selecting up to 2 preferences. You should include at least one degree from the Guaranteed Admissions Programs.
- Make sure you submit your application and any documentation by the closing date.
UAC Application
The only University of Newcastle degrees that require an application through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for Diplomas students are the Bachelor of Midwifery and the Bachelor of Medical Science/Doctor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program). All other degrees can be applied for using the FREE direct transfer.
If you would like to apply for an Australian University in another state of territory you’ll need to apply through the relevant Tertiary Admissions Centre.
UAC application tips
- You will be allocated a UAC Application Number and a PIN – make a note of these numbers.
- Pathways students must apply as a Non-Year 12 Applicant
- You are not applying through Alternate Entry
- List your Open Foundation/Yapug/Newstep program under ‘Preparatory Courses’
- Print/Download your application summary listing your qualifications and preferences for your records
