About
The Sir John Monash Foundation was established in 2001 with an initial contribution from the Australian Federal Government together with further contributions from corporate and private sponsors and donors. Its purpose is to raise funds for, and to administer, Australia’s own postgraduate scholarships - the John Monash Scholarships - to foster leadership, expertise and international networks, as well as build Australia’s capabilities for the future.
The John Monash Scholarships are postgraduate scholarships awarded to outstanding Australians with leadership potential who wish to study overseas. The John Monash Scholarships are amongst the most important postgraduate scholarships currently available in Australia.

Support for University of Newcastle candidates
The University of Newcastle will provide our applicants with a competitive edge when applying for a Sir John Monash Scholarship. The following steps have been established:
1. Application review and feedback
To seek support for your application, please complete the Notice of Intent to Apply form to Research_Advantage@newcastle.edu.au
The Monash application review and feedback will be facilitated by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation and will be conducted by University of Newcastle Executive.
2. Mock interview
Applicants that are successful to interview stage will be provided with mock interviews. Mock interviews will be facilitated by the Office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor, Research and Innovation.
