We will create a stronger, more inclusive society by collaborating with communities to build local capacity, social connectedness and sense of belonging.

  • Improving outcomes for teachers and students across Australia through the Quality Teaching Academy – a $21 million partnership with the Paul Ramsay Foundation
  • Partnering with the Lowitja Institute to develop an Aboriginal-led health and medical research committee improve outcomes for First Nations people
  • Revolutionising female participation in sports through the Daughters & Dads program, which engages sporting organisations and governments in Australia, the UK, Europe and South Africa
  • Delivering the Central Coast Health & Wellbeing Living Lab – a partnership with the Central Coast Local Health District that aims to help us live better, healthier lives in our homes as we age
  • Partnering with aged-care providers and community organisations to harness the power of creativity in promoting brain health
  • Developing the ‘Research Our Way’ strategy with Awabakal Limited, the Hunter Medical Research Institute and the Hunter New England Local Health District to ensure Aboriginal health research is led by, with and for local Aboriginal communities.
  • Tackling gendered violence in our communities with the Onside with the Mariners program and our NNN.360 program.

  • Working with Google Australia to explore the feasibility of geothermal energy to power data centres
  • Partnering with Kardinia Energy to use  printed solar panels to power Coldplay concerts around the world
  • Co-hosting Australia’s Trailblazer for Recycling and Clean Energy (TRaCE) program – a partnership with UNSW and industry to support Australia’s transition to net zero by 2050
  • Established the ResTech joint venture with AmpControl to accelerate the development and commercialisation of advanced manufacturing solutions for the energy, infrastructure and resources industries
  • Partnering with BHP Billiton to drive home-grown innovation in low carbon iron and steelmaking
  • Co-hosting the $15 million NSW Decarbonisation Hub to help reduce carbon emissions
  • Secured 20 industry partners as sponsors for HunterWiSE, a program designed to increase the number of girls and women engaged in STEM.
