Plastic remediation technologies
We are currently undertaking research to understand the fundamentals of plastic polymer degradation and develop plastic bioremediation and water treatment strategies. For this we are investigating the following:
- Bioremediation potential of environmental microbes
- Metagenomics analysis of plastic microbiome to identify functional genes for plastic degradation
- Developing advanced treatment technologies for polluted water samples
Ongoing PhD project
- Development of Treatment Technologies to Reduce. Remove and Recover Microplastics from the Whole Water Supply Cycle (Viz. Source, Conveyance and Waste)
