Graduate Certificate in Professional Equity and Inclusion

The Graduate Certificate in Professional Equity and Inclusion at the University of Newcastle is an opportunity to learn with leading equity and inclusion activists and thinkers.
As a student in this program:
- You will work with the UNESCO Chair of Equity and Social Justice.
- You will be taught by an award-winning team of social theorists, social workers, human services experts, policy analysts, and community development specialists.
- You will develop skills and strategies that allow you to do something about the complex challenges our societies face, rather than offering tokenistic action and superficial short-term band aid ‘fixes’
This postgraduate program of study is delivered via a collaboration between the Centre of Excellence for Equity in Higher Education (CEEHE) and the School of Humanities, Creative Industries & Social Sciences at the University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia.
There are four courses within this program of study:
- SOCA6310 Key Issues in Institutional Equity and Inclusive Practice
- SOCA6320 Shaping Organisations and Communities: Advocacy and Change
- SOCA6330 Writing the Field of Equity
- SOCA6240 Project Design and Evaluation
SOCA6310 (Key Issues in Institutional Equity and Inclusive Practice) and SOCA6330 (Writing the Field of Equity) are unique in that they offer a collaborative team teaching and learning environment for students. This is a distinctive offering that harnesses the insights and expertise of the CEEHE team of academics and professional staff who work at the cutting edge of equity innovation with local, state, national and international communities.

- 1 year part-time, up to 3 years maximum
- Offered Face to Face and Online
- Direct pathway into the Master of Social Change and Development
