        Publication of a Sustainability Report
The University of Newcastle publishes a sustainability SDG progress report annually, showcasing how we are performing against our sustainability commitments and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Policy / intent to report
- The University’s Sustainability / Reports page lists Sustainability Reports (Progress Reports) for 2019-2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
- These reports are a way to document our commitment to sustainability and the SDGs.
- The reports are updated yearly with achievements relating to the previous year, showing ongoing continuity of reporting.
Examples and content
- The SDG Progress Reports cover themes such as Equity; Indigenous Knowledges; Transformative Education; Global Health & Wellbeing; Sustainable Cities & Communities; Climate Adaptation & Clean Futures.
- The reports include performance data, case studies, initiatives, alignment with goals, and narrative around progress and challenges.
 
            The University of Newcastle acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands within our footprint areas: Awabakal, Darkinjung, Biripai, Worimi, Wonnarua, and Eora Nations. We also pay respect to the wisdom of our Elders past and present.
