NUspace
Located in the heart of Newcastle’s CBD on Hunter Street, our award-winning NUspace building is a modern addition to our City Campus. The building boasts inspiring architecturally designed spaces that capture stunning views of the harbour and the surrounding city landscape. Our venue spaces are suitable for a range of corporate events including board meetings, team workshops, and small conferences, as well as networking events. NuSpace venues can accommodate from 10 to 110 attendees.
Event Space (X803)
The event space has flexible furniture to accommodate versatile set up options and is fitted with a projector and screen with video conferencing and zoom facilities. On the eighth floor with stunning views across the harbour and towards Nobbys Headland it is a beautiful space to hold a meeting or workshop of networking event for up to 40 people.
Board Room (X802)
A meeting space for 15 people with a projector and screen, videoconferencing and zoom capabilities. Expansive views across the harbour and up the river and a foyer area for breaks.
Meeting Rooms
There are a number of small meeting rooms for up to 8 people with wall mounted screen and zoom technology.
Lecture Theatres and Classrooms*
Our city based lecture theatres accommodate up to 110 attendees and promote a collaborative environment typically with booth seating, projectors, screen, video conferencing and zoom facilities. Catering can be arranged through our on-site caterer.

Venue Hire
Seating in our tiered lecture theatres is fixed. Classrooms may have moveable tables and chairs, please advise us at venuesandevents@newcastle.edu.au if you need moveable furniture.
Our in house caterer NUservices can meet your food and beverage needs with breakfast, lunch and canape menus or, you are welcome to use your usual caterer.
Lecture Theatres and classrooms include a screen and wireless or HDMI connection. Should you require AV assistance a run-through with a preferred supplier in advance of the event is recommended. Preferred suppliers include Fordtronic AV and Scion Audio.
You will have access to the UON Conference wifi. Please check with venuesandevents@newcastle.edu.au for the current password.
Should you require a space to be set up in a specific layout, you will need to make a request at least ten business days prior to your event via email to venuesandevents@newcastle.edu.au.
We aim to meet all clients on site and can assist with AV set up if needed. Onsite Security team members can provide first aid and assist in the case of an emergency. They can be contacted on 4921 5888. If you need to contact the Venues and Events team you can call 4921 6759.
