The University has entered into an Enforceable Undertaking with the Fair Work Ombudsman (pursuant to section 715 of the Fair Work Act) related to its underpayments that were identified in early 2020.
The document includes details of the University’s extensive efforts to rectify the matter and ensure staff have been reimbursed for any underpayments, along with interest.
We are pleased the Fair Work Ombudsman has acknowledged the cooperation and early and open disclosures made by our University and our commitment to establish and implement systems and processes across the institution to avoid similar issues recurring. (see page 4 of Enforceable Undertaking).
We are committed to improving our training and systems to ensure all staff know their entitlements and are paid correctly.
To be attributed to Vice-Chancellor, Professor Alex Zelinsky AO.
