New I2N program to support female leaders and entrepreneurs
The Integrated Innovation Network (I2N) has launched a new program designed to support female entrepreneurs, innovators and aspiring leaders across the Hunter and Central Coast.
FLIP is a nine-week program aimed at building entrepreneurial confidence, validating business ideas and developing authentic leadership presence in a supportive, hands-on environment.
Australian startup funding for women hit a record low in 2025. In 2024, only two percent of venture capital funding in Australia went to all-female founding teams, and women held just 22 per cent of CEO roles.
FLIP will tackle these challenges by delivering lean startup methodology and targeted leadership development to address both structural and personal barriers to success.
“At a time when female-founded ventures are fighting for visibility and investment, this program offers not just skills and support, but a community,” said Siobhan Curran, Director of Knowledge Exchange and Entrepreneurship.
“FLIP is about creating space for women to lead boldly and build ventures that matter.”
FLIP is made possible through the generous support of the MacDougall Foundation. University alumna Belinda MacDougall, founder and CEO of The Healthy Happy Co (which produces The Lady Shake, The Man Shake and The Kids Shake) is passionate about creating opportunities for women to thrive in leadership and entrepreneurship.
FLIP is open to women with or without a business idea, and no University affiliation is required - just a commitment to growth and impact. Applications can be submitted through the FLIP webpage from 4 August.
