Greater Sydney Commission Workshop
This week's Greater Sydney Commission Research Workshop hosted by the University of Newcastle was an important step towards developing the research strategy needed to support delivery of the six cities plan.
The Greater Cities Commission will be tasked with developing the six cities vision for metropolitan NSW following the passage of legislation last month.
The Institute for Regional Futures’ Professor Roberta Ryan facilitated the discussion with key research, government and industry stakeholders in Newcastle and the Hunter to discuss current research priorities, gaps and areas of collaboration including across housing, transport, climate and resilience, education and skills development.
Thanks to the Greater Sydney Commission (soon to be Greater Cities Commission) for asking the University to be part of the conversation. Thanks also to everyone who participated and gave their time and energy to ensure that a robust evidence-base informs and supports the Commission's work to create a series of interconnected dynamic and resilient places, and a diverse and globally competitive region.
