Say Aahhhh: Health, Medicine and Everyday Care in Newcastle from 1945 to 2000
Come and explore Say Aahhhh: Health, Medicine and Everyday Care in Newcastle from 1945 to 2000, an exhibition exploring the unique and surprising history of health care in Newcastle.
Drawing from the rich archives held by the Auchmuty Library, the exhibition traces how local communities accessed and experienced health care—from hospital stays to home care — spanning the post-war era to the early 2000s.
Curated by Professor Catharine Coleborne, Dr Effie Karageorgos, Associate Professor Elizabeth Roberts-Pedersen, and Dr Ann Hardy in collaboration with Special Collections, the exhibition highlights stories of innovation, resilience, and care.
