Science in Practice is a one-day event hosted by the University of Newcastle's Faculty of Science to coincide with Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology, National Science Week.
Developed and led by our world-class experts, the event will be an online experience this year, delivering a virtual day of FREE, exciting, interactive activities and presentations for the whole community.
From live SMART Science shows to talks with some of our Mad Scientists, there is something for everyone to explore - right from the comfort of your very own home.
Events include:
- Live SMART Science Show (10am – for the whole family)
- SMART Science workshops (10.45am, best suited to ages 5-12).
- Three ocean-themed webinars covering everything you wanted to know about sharks and rays, coral and life aboard a research vessel.
- Mad Scientist Talks on everything from DNA and diet and the plastics choking our oceans to the impact of maths and the psychology of men’s health.
