University of Newcastle welcomes the release of the NSW Government’s Hydrogen Strategy
Statement from Vice-Chancellor Professor Alex Zelinsky AO on the release of the NSW Government’s Hydrogen Strategy
The University welcomes today’s release of the NSW Government’s Hydrogen Strategy, which signals an enormous opportunity for our region for innovation, employment, industry development, the economy, and research and development.
Our University is also proud to be supporting efforts to advance hydrogen opportunities for our regions, including leading the Hunter Hydrogen Taskforce, which developed a Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap for the Committee for the Hunter, to be launched later this year.
Through the Hunter Hydrogen Technology (NewH2) Cluster and Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER), we will continue to work with our partners to help lead energy transformation in NSW and to realise the Hunter’s potential as a Hydrogen Hub.
The release of the NSW Hydrogen Strategy gives our region the confidence and clarity to move forward with the implementation of the Hunter Hydrogen Roadmap to drive the transition and enable a viable hydrogen industry in NSW.
