Warabrook campus entry refurbishment: We want your thoughts
Do you catch the train to uni, walk or cycle through Warabrook station or know people that do? We want to hear from you!
As part of our overall placemaking strategy, we are proposing that the train station entry to the campus be enhanced to provide a destination arrival point, similar to our main vehicular entry points, for those users arriving by train and to enhance the pedestrian amenity adjacent to our campus.
The current design aims to enhance connections to our campus, particularly with people arriving by train but also those accessing the campus and its facilities by bike and on foot. Some of the works we are proposing could include:
- new pedestrian and cycle paths
- enhanced lighting
- landscaping
- a public waiting shelter
- better wayfinding
The University is evaluating a range of possibilities to improve links with our community and we want to hear your thoughts on our proposal to improve the accessibility, amenity and prominence of the precinct and on enhancing the experience for students, staff and visitors to the campus from Warabrook train station.
We'd also love to hear your thoughts on the current name of the train station (Warabrook) that links our community to the University campus. Current sentiment around the name suggests that there is a lack of connection for our students, to our University and the suburb where the campus is located.
