Business, commerce and law students recently participated in a 'work ready' skills workshop.

Preparing Your Professional Self Workshop

A group of Faculty of Business and Law students recently attended a 'Preparing Your Professional Self' workshop, facilitated by University of Newcastle alumna and HR professional Kristi Granata.

The 'Preparing Your Professional Self' workshop is offered to Faculty of Business and Law students as an opportunity to develop work ready skills. The workshop covered topics such as resume building, composing competitive job applications, networking, and interview techniques.

The student cohort came from across university year-level, and from across the range of disciplines offered by the Faculty of Business and Law. All, however, expressed value in the workshop, indicating it is never too early or too late in a student's university studies to develop work ready knowledge and skills.

The Faculty of Business and Law offers students a suite of work ready opportunities to complement the valuable knowledge, insights and skills gained through a UON degree. The work ready opportunities provide students with a range of work-place experiences relevant to career interests, and occasions to develop capabilities relevant to career goals.
