Corporate Governance in Australia
Dr Paul Docherty was recently invited to deliver a presentation to the Australian Shareholders Association on the topic of Corporate Governance in Australia.
Dr Docherty's presentation focused on how governance regulations have evolved in Australia and the impact of governance on economic performance and equity prices.
The Australian Shareholders' Association (ASA) is an independent, member-funded, not-for-profit organisation that was formed in 1960 and has grown to be the major autonomous body representing Australian retail investors. The organisation empowers retail investors by giving them a strong voice and collective influence over corporate decision making, voting more than $5 billion worth of proxies in the last year. ASA holds bi-monthly seminars with presentations by invited speakers on a range of topics of interest to investors.
